Five Montour swimmers each won two individual events and took part in two winning relay efforts as the Spartans defeated Carlynton in both the boys and girls swim meets Tuesday night.

Montour's Ama Sow scored five points in overtime to lead the Spartans to a 51-45 victory over Moon Tuesday night in a WPIAL Class 5A Section 4 boys basketball matchup. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and Bishop Canevin also won.
Girls basketball: Moon Area comes from behind to edge Montour, 43-40
Moon Area had to come from behind to beat Montour in a WPIAL Class 5A Section 3 girls basketball game at Moon. Maria Depner led the Tigers with 18 points while Zoe Woessner topped Montour with 13.
Girls basketball: Bishop Canevin, OLSH post easy victories; Carlynton, Sto-Rox fall
Bishop Canevin got 21 points from Kya Cooley and 14 from Isabella Sysak in a WPIAL Class 1A Section 2 girls basketball win over Mapletown. OLSH also won while Carlynton and Sto-Rox lost.

Carlynton Cougars' freshman Evey Fahnestock captured a pair of first-place finishes, posting WPIAL championship qualifying times in the process, in the Cougars' loss to South Park last week.
Carlynton wrestlers place 21st at Burgettstown Invitational
Braiden Sudor and Henry Barbisch both placed among the top five to help Carlynton finish 21st among 34 teams competing in the Burgettstown Invitational high school wrestling tournament Saturday.
