Connellsville defeated Montour 5-3 Monday in a WPIAL Class 5A baseball game, highlighted by a pivotal three-run rally in the fourth inning. Chase Sankovich’s steal of home ignited the scoring, followed by Grayden Gillott's two-run single. Montour's late efforts fell short despite a seventh-inning home run from Andrew Porto. Connellsville outhit Montour 10-5.
High school softball: Bishop Canevin breezes past Springdale; Sto-Rox blanked
Lizzy Fuchs led Bishop Canevin to a 10-3 win over Springdale with four RBIs, including a two-run double. Ava Washington and others contributed to the scoring, while Macie McClain posted nine strikeouts. Leechburg defeated Sto-Rox 15-0, with Ava Ferretti driving in six runs and Addie Zanotto throwing a no-hitter.

Athletes of Action scholarship luncheon will honor three community sports luminaries
The Athletes of Action Memorial Scholarship Luncheon, now in its 14th year, has evolved from a modest start to a celebrated fundraising event. Held on April 5, it supports scholarships for scholar-athletes from Montour and Sto-Rox high schools. Since its inception, it has awarded $81,000, positively impacting numerous students.
