Moon Area rallied for six runs in the sixth inning to pull out an 8-4 victory over South Fayette Tuesday in a WPIAL Class 5A Section 3 baseball game. Bishop Canevin, meanwhile, rolled to an easy win while Carlynton was blanked by Riverview.
High school softball: Bishop Canevin breezes past Springdale; Sto-Rox blanked
Lizzy Fuchs led Bishop Canevin to a 10-3 win over Springdale with four RBIs, including a two-run double. Ava Washington and others contributed to the scoring, while Macie McClain posted nine strikeouts. Leechburg defeated Sto-Rox 15-0, with Ava Ferretti driving in six runs and Addie Zanotto throwing a no-hitter.

PIAA basketball: OLSH girls fall in semifinals to Shady Side Academy, 43-29
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart's pursuit of its first PIAA girls basketball championship ended Friday night with a 43-29 loss to Shady Side Academy in the Class 3A semifinals. The Chargers, despite a strong start, struggled offensively, scoring only 19 points in the last three quarters. Shady Side Academy advances to the PIAA championship game.
