Girls volleyball: Three West Hills schools qualify for WPIAL postseason play

Three West Hills area high school girls volleyball teams will begin postseason play this week, with Our Lady of the Sacred Heart seeing action first Monday, Oct. 21, at Laurel. Bishop Canevin and Montour also will compete this week.

Girls soccer: Moon, Montour begin WPIAL tournament play Monday; Carlynton, OLSH open Tuesday

Moon and Montour will begin play Monday in the WPIAL girls soccer tournament, with the Tigers hosting Hampton and the Spartans entertaining Franklin Regional. Carlynton and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart begin play Tuesday in the Class A tournament.

Moon's boys soccer team will enter the WPIAL tournament Saturday as the top seed in Class 3A. The unbeaten Tigers will host Belle Vernon in their tournament opener while three other West Hills area teams begin tournament action as well.
