Boys basketball: Avsec powers OLSH past Riverview in season opener
Austin Avsec led Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to a 66-46 boys basketball victory over Riverview Tuesday night, scoring 23 points. Jake Johnson and Nolan Reed added 14 and 11 points, respectively. In hockey, Montour shut out Hampton 4-0, with Trey Varga scoring two goals.
RMU basketball: Men take 3-game win streak to Green Bay; women visit Mercyhurst
The Robert Morris University men's basketball team, currently 6-3, will begin Horizon League play against Wisconsin-Green Bay Thursday. The Colonial women, meanwhile, will trek to Erie to take on winless Mercyhurst Wednesday morning.

Lola Garner's 15 points led Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to a 43-26 victory over Beaver Area Monday night in girls basketball. Montour defeated West Mifflin 63-28, with Tiffany Miller scoring 13 points. Montour improved to 3-0.
Boys basketball: Bishop Canevin, Moon Area win; Montour falls to Allderdice
Drew Allen's 26 points helped Bishop Canevin secure a 75-67 win over Belle Vernon at the West Mifflin tournament, overcoming a first-quarter deficit.
