Both Cornell and Sto-Rox dropped one-sided contests in a pair of WPIAL boys basketball matchups Tuesday night. Cornell fell to Avella and Sto-Rox lost to Washington.

Girls basketball: Hot start propels Moon past Mars; OLSH stays unbeaten in section play
Jaedin Griggs scored 22 points and Maria Depner added 20, and Moon used a hot first quarter to take control on the way to a win over Mars Monday night in a WPIAL Class 5A Section 3 girls basketball game. In Class 3A play, OLSH remained unbeaten by downing Riverside.
High school wrestling: West Hills schools place in top 8
Three West Hills area school placed within the top eight at the Ed Driscoll MAC wrestling tournament held Saturday at Laurel High School. Cael Yanek of Moon took home the only individual title among local wrestlers.
High school basketball: OLSH boys win; girls fall to West Allegheny
Austin Avsec led a balanced attack as Our Lady of the Sacred Heart topped Hopewell, 64-54, Saturday in the Mahoney Classic at Burgettstown. OLSH's girls team fell to West Allegheny.
