High school sports: Moon softball falls to South Fayette; OLSH downs Carlynton

South Fayette defeated Moon Area, 8-4 , in softball, while Our Lady of the Sacred Heart triumphed 18-1 over Carlynton. In baseball, Bishop Canevin whipped Springdale, 11-1, and in boys volleyball, Montour and OLSH fell in reverse sweeps.

High school softball: Seventh-inning homer lifts Moon Area past Montour; OLSH rolls

Cami Chambers' two-run homer in the seventh inning secured Moon Area's 4-2 walkoff win against Montour. The game featured a stellar effort from Moon's Katie DeMarco. OLSH whipped Burgettstown 14-4.

High school tennis: Rohrkaste reaches PIAA tourney after placing third in WPIALs

Montour's John Rohrkaste wound up third Friday in the WPIAL Class 2A Boys Tennis Singles Championships after his opponent in the consolation third-place match was unable to play due to injury. Rohrkaste will advance to next month's PIAA tournament.
