High school sports: Montour, Bishop Canevin post baseball wins; Moon track dominates section meet

Matteo Weber led Montour to a 3-0 victory over Gateway with a stellar pitching performance, while Tyler and Jackson Maddix shone in Bishop Canevin's win against Eden Christian Academy, 7-4. Moon's boys and girls track and field teams ruled the section meet.

High school sports: Carlynton girls sweep track meet; Montour player advances to WPIAL tennis tourney

Jordynn Carter led Carlynton's unbeaten girls track team to two victories, while the Cougar boys achieved mixed results. Montour's John Rohrkaste placed third in the section tennis tournament to advance to the WPIAL Championships, and Moon's girls lacrosse team edged Shaler.

High school sports: OLSH baseball sweeps Carlynton; Montour softball rolls to win

Chad Minton’s sixth-inning single guided Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to a 5-1 win over Carlynton, completing a doubleheader sweep. OLSH also won the first game 7-0, led by Iseia Fields-Schulz's impressive pitching. Connellsville' pulled out an eighth-inning victory against Montour and Montour's softball whipped Ellwood City.

High school sports: Moon baseball, OLSH softball can’t get untracked

Zach Miner led Peters Township to a 3-1 win over Moon Area, allowing five hits and one run while striking out five. He also contributed an RBI single. In softball, Howland defeated Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 3-0, highlighted by Madison Schmitz's inside-the-park homer and Brooke Tatar's strong performance.
