Drew Allen's 27 points, including 12 in the final quarter, led Bishop Canevin to a 61-50 win over Keystone Oaks in WPIAL boys basketball action Friday night. Moon Area and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart also secured wins, while Thomas Jefferson edged Montour, 59-54. Carlynton, Sto-Rox and Cornell also lost.
RMU women get early start in taking on Northern Kentucky Saturday
The Robert Morris women’s basketball team hosts Northern Kentucky at 11 a.m. Saturday at the UPMC Events Center. RMU, holding an 11-4 record, aims to continue its success after a recent win. Northern Kentucky is on a four-game streak and has a 7-11 overall record.
Girls basketball: Bishop Canevin, OLSH roll to easy victories
Bishop Canevin defeated Avella 53-27, in WPIAL girls basketball action Thursday night, with Isabella Sysak scoring 23 points. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart triumphed over New Brighton 69-9, led by Camryn Hummel's 12 points. Sto-Rox, Carlynton and Moon Area all lost.
High school wrestling: Five pins help Moon Area roll past Montour
The Moon Area wrestling team defeated Montour, 54-18, Wednesday night in a WPIAL Class 3A dual meet, winning five of the first six weight classes, and registering five pins in all.
RMU roundup: Basketball, hockey teams return to action
